Step 01 of 05
Adding polynomials = combining like terms. Same variable, same power → can be combined. Different power → can't.

Step 02 of 05
Step 1 — distribute the minus sign. Subtracting a polynomial means flipping every sign inside the second set of parens. This is where the bulk of errors happen.

Step 2 — group like terms together. Slide them next to each other (commutative property earns its keep again).

Step 3 — combine each group.
Three terms, each from one group. Standard form lists terms in descending power.
